FALLEN local government minister has long been claimed to own a 50-bedroom mansion in Harare, allegations the former Zanu PF national political commissar has always dismissed along with alleged images of the multi-million-dollar property.

The first verified images of HIS palatial property were however, recently released on social media by a relative alleging the military tried to assassinate Kasukuwere as it took over power in Harare mid-last month.

A short video showed parts of the property’s walls and rooms riddled with bullet holes during the raid which the minister reportedly survived, escaping to then president Robert Mugabe’s private home in the capital.

But a longer video has now emerged of the fabulous property (watch below), with soldiers milling about in the grounds and remarking with bemusement about the possible cost of the property and where the minister might have got the money to build it.

Kasukuwere is now reportedly in exile after Mugabe was toppled from power and replaced by former deputy Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The former minister was believed to be among officials targeted by the military when it said it was hunting down criminals around the 93-year-old Mugabe in order to bring them to justice.

Along with top political ally and former higher education minister Jonathan Moyo, Kasukuwere is thought to have been allowed free passage out of the country as part of Mugabe’s resignation deal.

The two ministers were the key drivers of the G40 Zanu PF faction which was seen as trying to secure the succession of Mugabe by his wife Grace, in a development that angered military Generals and veterans of the country’s liberation war.
