PRO-DEMOCRACY Zimbabwean activists in the UK will stage another protest Friday at the surgery of a UK doctor accused of grabbing a productive farm in Zimbabwe.

British citizen, Dr Sylvester Nyatsuro, who is originally from Zimbabwe has denied allegations of forcibly trying to remove white farmer Philip Rankin from his 100-hectare farm in Mashonaland Central.

“Zimbabwean exiles in the UK are to stage another demonstration on Friday outside a clinic in Nottingham run by a doctor who is attempting to seize a farm in Zimbabwe,” Zimbabwe Vigil said in a statement earlier this week.

“Dr Sylvester Nyatsuro, a British citizen, claims that the Mugabe regime has told him he can have the farm although he has been resident in England for more than 10 years.”

The Nyatsuro’s, who are said to be related to President Robert Mugabe, insist they are entitled to the land and were procedurally allocated the farm by the government.

Rankin has however vowed to resist them, declaring that: “I will not be pushed out of my land by a British passport holder.”

Last month, Zimbabwe Vigil staged a demonstration against Dr Nyatsuro at his surgery in Nottingham.

The organisation said it would return on Friday,” said Zim Vigil coordinator Fungayi Mabhunu.

“All we require from the Nyatsuros to stop our protests outside their clinic is that they drop their greedy and hypocritical claim on a farm in Zimbabwe with which they have no connection.

“They are obviously prospering here so what need do they have to take over someone’s home and livelihood in Zimbabwe?”
