Taurai Mangwiro ... Harare City coach

Fresh from claiming the Chibuku Super Cup last weekend, Harare City visit league title chasers FC Platinum on Saturday in a league match which is likely to shape the platinum miners destiny.

City beat Dynamos 2-1 last Saturday to win the Chibuku Super Cup and earn the ticket to represent Zimbabwe in the CAF Confederations Cup next year.

It was coach Taurai Mangwiro’s first ever major piece of silverware.

But Mangwiro and his charges will embark on a trip to Zvishavane as they still habour chances of finishing the season in the top four.

FC Platinum is four points from leaders Chicken Inn and if they lose to Harare City, their title chances will become slimmer.

Mangwiro said they are not worried about FC Platinum’s quest for the league title.

“It is important that we focus on ourselves and not look at what our opponents are playing for. We will just concentrate on our game and try to get maximum points,” Mangwiro said.

“We have just won the Chibuku Cup and that is now water under the bridge. We have celebrated enough so it is now time to look into the future. We still have chances of finishing in the top four so that is what we are looking at. We just have to keep on with the momentum that saw us beat Dynamos last weekend.”

City started the season strongly tipped to win the league title after being active on the market for players.
